On the night of 31 December 2019, all of us thought to ourselves: this would be the best year of our lives. The trendy teen had traveling and partying in their plan, others wanted this to be the best academic year and the summer would have been LEGENDARY but who knew it would all be wrecked by quarantine.
Drive-in movies, discovering new places and bike rides with your brothers, all this was about to happen but wait, all our dreams and desires were washed away by corona and quarantine.
The world is taking wild turns right now. None of us would have even imagined that we would be hit by a pandemic let alone being confined to our homes for the past two and a half months now.
We know it is a hard time and most of us are struggling mentally and emotionally but sitting idle at home just makes it worst. We always thought to ourselves, what we would do if we would have a vacation from life just once. Obviously this isn’t what we had wished for but now is the time. We have all the time in our hands and can do whatever we wanted to.
One thing which needs to be remembered is:
There is no competition here. You don’t have to compare yourselves with others and feel sorry about not learning enough. Just hang in there and this shall also pass.

Art will never betray you and it will also soothe your soul. The art you learn now will stay by your side forever. If you don’t know what you are good at you can start searching now and make some good use of the quarantine period. Art never judges you for finding it late. Learn to play an instrument, or how to sing. Dance or just simply grab a sketchbook and a pencil. It could be hard to find what suits you best but once you find it will give you immense self-satisfaction.

Start working out
Staying at home all day, this quarantine has made us lazy and reduced our daily physical activity a lot. If you are tired of sleeping around all day now would be time to make your own little workout. Add exercises that you find suitable and convenient for yourself. The healthy you develop now will help you stay fit even after this quarantine is over.
Burning those extra calories will help you feel positive and calm.

A freelancer is a common term used for a person who is self-employed and is not necessarily committed to a particular employer for the long term. This is presently the most productive thing one can do in quarantine to earn good money and sustain yourself. If you have skills like web development, video editing, journalism or bullet journalism, blogging, app development, or graphic designing then there are a countless number of things you can do while sitting at home.
Even if you have no idea what these all are it isn’t very late. You can start learning new skills this quarantine and the new skills you develop now will definitely come in good use someday.

Reading good books will not only help you gain some extra knowledge but it will also help you gain focus, concentration, and clarity in life, and also some good energy to sustain this quarantine. So just start reading and be comfortable. A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, the man who never reads lives only once.
Yoga and Meditation
Yoga and meditation is something that we must practice since it is the best method to remain calm and patient. Perhaps many of you are having trouble staying calm this quarantine but yoga will surely keep you away from stress, anxiety, illness and will also help you get in shape.
Meditation is even easier. You just have to find a comfortable corner in your house and start to free your mind from whatever it is that is burdening you. You can listen to “Weightless” by Marconi Union in the process. It has helped me stay calm and may it help you too.

Many of you are enthusiastic about writing good poems and pieces but couldn’t do so because of a lack of time or whatever reasons you gave to yourself. Quarantine might be the time to finally take a step forward. Look around the world with a different point of view, be observant and ideas will flow in. This is a great platform to let your thoughts out and free yourself. Let the world hear you and your valuable thoughts and feel the lifting weight from your mind.
You can learn to cook from YouTube channels and the internet very easily today. Cooking will always come in handy when you are living away from your family and help you live a comfortable life. Surprise your family this quarantine by making them dishes that they never imagined you could pull off. Help your mother in the kitchen and learn from her.

Don’t try to learn everything under the sun in this quarantine and time of crisis. You just need to find something that you are passionate about and get to work. Spend quality time with your family and try to remain calm; this might not be the perfect vacation we had planned to spend time with ourselves but since we got it any way we might as well utilize it.
Progress always takes place outside our comfort zone and success only comes before work in a dictionary. You just need to push yourself a little bit and you’ll see much greater changes in you.
Anything and everything you want to do is available on the internet today. A few days ago I too had no idea what I should do this quarantine and I am here now! It is never too late to begin. Just get yourself together and start something, anything! Be excited about life and what you are doing; look forward to the smaller things in life and it will definitely make you happy and have a positive outlook in life.
